The LAUSD Board of Education has authorized the collection of a $25.00 registration fee per semester. Exempt from paying the registration fees are the following classes, programs and students:
- Citizenship classes
- Concurrently enrolled High School students
- Adult Basic Education
- English as a Second Language
- High School Diploma/GED
- Individuals receiving Public Assistance (must show documents)
- AEWC students
- Persons attending classes approved for high school credit
- Persons attending classes approved by support services
- Programs for Adults with Disabilities
- Senior Citizens 62 years of age and older
- Parent Education
A special class fee is charged in certain classes requiring materials and tools not furnished by the School District. Fees range from $5 - $35.
Computers $20.00/$30.00
I.I./English/Math Labs $5.00/course
Ceramics $15.00
Woodworking $20.00
Parent Education $35.00
Fine Arts $20.00
REFUNDS
Requests for refunds must be made by the third class meeting and must be accompanied by the paid receipt. Processing takes approximately four weeks.
A $10.00 Drop Fee for each transaction will be assessed.
To receive a refund, the student must return the fee card and/or receipt before the third class meeting.

GED Testing English/Spanish

Onsite GED testing services. GED test fee is $110 for full test. Retests are $25 each. Official Practice Tests are Free. English and Spanish GED Test Preparation available. Please call the Adult School Counseling Office for specifics.
The ESL Distance Learning programs require a $10.00 refundable deposit. The GED and Parenting Distance Learning program requires a $15.00 refundable deposit.
Most classes encourage students to purchase a book. This is voluntary. Books are sold in the main office or by teachers at branch locations. GED preparation books (English and Spanish) and dictionaries are available. Book prices are posted in the Main Office.
There is a $1.00 charge for this voluntary card. Proceeds are used for activities and services that benefit all students.
There is a $4 fee for the Student Body Handbook for the Evening ESL classes.
Tehre is a $5.00 fee for this voluntary card. Proceeds are used for activities and services that benefit all students. Students must attend classes for two weeks to be eligible to purchase a Photo ID Card.
Administration reserves the right at any time to reduce the number of course offerings, reduce the length of courses and/or reduce the number of class meetings due to lack of adequate funding or low attendance. Some classes may become filled and closed prior to registration due to pre-registration of continuing students.
UNIFORM COMPLAINT PROCEDURE
Complaints alleging unlawful discrimination or failure to comply with state or federal law in adult basic education, consolidated categorical aid programs, migrant education, vocational education, child care and development programs, child nutrition programs and special education programs must be made in writing and given to the District's Compliance Officer.
