Education & Career Center

Reseda Education & Career Center, formerly Reseda Community Adult School, is one of 33 adult schools and vocational education sites operated by the Los Angeles Unified School District.

We offer adults an opportunity to:
  • prepare for a vocation
  • achieve advancement or promotion
  • satisfy requirements for an eighth grade diploma
  • satisfy requirements for an adult high school diploma
  • satisfy requirements for a GED Certificate
  • learn English as a Second Language.

Located in the San Fernando Valley, we serve the communities of Reseda, Tarzana, Encino, and portions of adjacent communities for over 50 years. Our primary offices and classrooms are located at Reseda High School. However, we have classes in 48 branches in various private and public facilities. And last year alone, we served students from 63 different countries.

Who may enroll:
  1. Adults, 18 years of age or older (no previous schooling required).
  2. Concurrent high school students with permission from day school counselors and parent or guardian.
  3. Others under 18 years of age must secure permission from the Adult School Principal unless they have high school diplomas.
Registration:

  • All classes are offered to the general public. There are no residence requirements.
  • Students may enroll in a branch class at the time and place the class is scheduled to meet.
  • Students enrolling for classes at Reseda campus should do soin the Adult School Office. High School diploma students must see a counselor and enroll for credit at the time of registration.
  • Enrollments are accepted throughout the year. It is never too late to enroll if space is available.
English as Second Language Classes:

Classes in English as a Second Language (ESL) are designed to help students improve fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English. Day and evening classes are available.

TOBACCO-FREE SCHOOL/NO SMOKING ON CAMPUS
The federal and state governments have adopted various anti-tobacco laws that require schools to have adopted and fully implemented tobacco-free environment policies. As required by these laws, the Los Angeles Unified School District has prohibited smoking and the use of all tobacco products on all school and District property.
